Unless you live through it you can't understand what the R&F members went through at that time.
The GB knew exactly what they were doing as they deceptively worded this Awake article but the way they worded that the message they wanted to convey to the R&F members what they wanted them to hear. They first pose the question to the reader "Does this mean that the above evidence positively points to 1975 as the time for the complete end of the system of things?" Then the last sentence of the paragraph says, "If the 1970's should see intervention by Jehovah God to bring an end to a corrupt world drifting toward ultimate disintegration, that surely not surprise us."

The WT can deny it all they want. I was there I I witness it first hand. It was not just the R&F dub that believe this, it was pushed by the society at the time. One quote from many is the Oct 8th 1968 Awake,
What do they mean when they say in 1968, "It means that only a few years, at most, remain before the corrupt system of things dominating the earth is destroyed by God."?

Jesus - Jehovah, so they replace one fairy tail with another fairy tail.
Seems like a big snooze fest to me.This would be my line up for Friday morning.
Friday Morning,
9:40 - Listen to a boring talk about Jesus.
10:00 - Doze off to sleep out of boredom.
12:00 - Wake up in time to hear the finale comments, song and prayer
12:15 - Lunch time and get ready for the next set of boring talks.

Who REALLY believed in the idea of living forever on earth??

"Let's say it is all made up and we wont live forever on a paradise earth. Would living a moral and clean life that helps people be a terrible thing?"
One thing that really shook my faith was as a teenager I remember an older sister that everyone looked up to as she put in a lot of hours in the service etc. I was at a door with her once and someone said to her "what if it is all a dream?" Her response was, "Well then it is a nice dream to have". It wasn't what I expected like some scriptural backing or anything, its just a nice dream. To me that showed that even she had doubts that it was real. I can dream that the Easter Bunny is real to but it doesn't make it any more true. Maybe some people can only exists believing in fairy tales.

Well as a ten year old boy I believed in it just like a worldly person would believe in Santa or the Easter Bunny. Then when I grew up and 1975 failed predictions, I realized that it was just a fantasy. It took me years to get over that. It was a sick dream pushed by a bunch of pathetic old men on the GB that feared death. Myself and my family we were not supposed to grow old and die but hold hands and walk into that paradise together. I think my mother and father realized toward the end of their lives that this maybe all a dream but had to hold on to that knowing their days were numbered.
